You can use the resources below to help you with your “Places in Time” writing assignment, or just to learn more about the history of our city.

The Musquem Mapping site includes links to place names and stories.  You can use this hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ Pronunciation Guide to help you with the language.

Check out this map of Vancouver’s Old Streams to find out where streams used to run through your neighbourhood.


Vancouver Street Stories includes great photographs of some of Vancouver’s lost salmon streams and creeks.  Scroll down for maps of where theses streams used to be.

Check out the False Creek Watershed Society to see what our neighbourhood looked like in the 1850s.
